The 16th Annual Conference of the European Second Language Association will be organized by Boğaziçi University, Department of Foreign Language Education. The conference will be held at the Resort Dedeman Hotel, Antalya, Turkey.

THEME OF THE CONFERENCE:

Theories of Second Language Acquisition and Their Implications

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INFORMATION:

Proposals for papers and posters on any aspect of second language acquisition research are invited. All topics in the field of second language acquisition from all theoretical perspectives will be considered. Priority will be given to abstracts that discuss the theoretical implications of the SLA research they report on. All submissions will be reviewed anonymously and evaluated in terms of originality, clarity, and significance of findings and conclusions.

Each author may submit no more than one individual and one co-authored abstract.

The paper must not have been previously published.

INDIVIDUAL PAPERS will be allotted 30 minutes (20 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion).

POSTERS are intended as a format for reports of work in progress.

Following the EUROSLA association policy, EUROSLA 2006 will be a multilingual conference: presentation in any European language is acceptable. However, abstracts must be written in English. A selection of the most innovative papers presented in the general and poster sessions will be included in the EUROSLA Yearbook, published in 'English' by John Benjamins Publishing Co. We believe that presenters will bear in mind the usefulness of attracting a wide audience in their presentations.

Submissions for papers and posters should include:
1. the title of the paper
2. name and affiliation of the author(s)
3. an abstract of 300 words (excluding references and the title)
4. the first author's postal address
5. the first author’s e-mail address
6. the first author’s fax number
7. type of presentation: please indicate whether you would like your proposal to be
considered for a paper, a poster or both.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail upon your abstract submission. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us as soon as possible.
